Alisha Price, M. Ed.
SECRETARY
Alisha Price is a veteran Bridgeport, Connecticut Public School educator with close to thirty years of teaching experience. She currently serves in the capacity of Literacy Teacher Leader and Mentor Teacher at her school. Alisha has been recognized as Outstanding Teacher of the Year and for Excellence in Teaching. In addition, her leadership and advisory involvement has consisted of committee membership on the Social Emotional Learning, School Governance, Turn-Around Arts, School Climate, and Data Analysis Teams, as well as writing ELA curriculum for the district.
Throughout her career, Alisha has worked tirelessly to build her capacity as a teacher through professional development, seeking best practices to promote positive student outcomes. Additionally, she works to amplify student voice and agency by encouraging and empowering students academically and socially with authentic, rigorous, and relevant learning opportunities. Alisha has received countless hours of training in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Restorative Practices. Alisha is actively involved in community and civic engagement in the city of Bridgeport and her hometown. She has served in leadership roles and as a member on boards of directors and advisory teams for non-profit organizations that promote education advocacy and student and family empowerment.
Alisha earned her Master of Science in Education from the University of Bridgeport, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. She is a certified Connecticut Department of Education TEAMS Mentor Teacher, Peer Observer, and trained facilitator in Restorative Practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) and School Climate Consultants.
