Hi! I’m A.R.T.I.E.

(Adventures in Reading Through Imagination & Exploration)

At Rise To Read, we’re always looking for new ways to meet children where they are and make reading exciting, accessible, and fun.

That’s why we’re introducing A.R.T.I.E. — our animated literacy companion designed to help young readers explore language, stories, and imagination with confidence and joy.

Who is Artie?

A.R.T.I.E. is Rise To Read’s animated literacy mascot — a friendly guide who invites children into the world of reading through curiosity, creativity, and play.

He’s not a teacher giving instructions.

He’s a companion who explores alongside children, asks questions, celebrates progress, and encourages them to keep going — even when reading feels challenging.

Through animation, storytelling, and interactive moments, A.R.T.I.E. helps children feel safe, seen, and excited to learn.

With A.R.T.I.E. children experience:

  • A friendly guide who learns alongside them

  • Positive reinforcement and encouragement

  • Engaging, story-based literacy moments

  • A growing sense of confidence as readers

Most importantly, they begin to associate reading with joy, imagination, and success.

How A.R.T.I.E. Supports Literacy Learning

A.R.T.I.E. is designed to work alongside Rise To Read’s Literacy Center lessons, reinforcing the same foundational skills children are already learning.

Through guided moments, A.R.T.I.E. helps children:

  • Build phonics and word recognition skills

  • Strengthen comprehension through storytelling

  • Develop vocabulary in meaningful, contextual ways

  • Practice listening, speaking, and reading together

Each interaction is intentional — aligned with evidence-based literacy instruction while staying playful and approachable.

Why A.R.T.I.E. Matters

Learning to read can feel intimidating for many children; especially those who struggle with confidence, focus, or traditional learning formats.

A.R.T.I.E. helps lower those barriers by:

  • Turning literacy into an adventure

  • Using imagination and play to spark engagement

  • Encouraging persistence without pressure

By blending reading instruction with animation and storytelling, A.R.T.I.E. helps children see reading as something they get to do, not something they have to do.

At Rise To Read, we believe children learn best when they feel curious, supported, and inspired. A.R.T.I.E. brings this belief to life by treating stories as worlds to discover and mistakes as part of the adventure.

A Growing Initiative

A.R.T.I.E. is just the beginning.

As this initiative grows, A.R.T.I.E. will continue to evolve — expanding into new stories, lessons, and interactive experiences that support children at every stage of their reading journey.

This initiative reflects Rise To Read’s ongoing commitment to innovative, inclusive, and child-centered literacy education.
